Doesn't save your progress.

plufmot responds:

Sure doesn't. It's supposed to be played in one run.

The controls are way too unresponsive and the movement is too floaty.

edit: I have an i5 and a gtx1060. I can run Escape from Tarkov at decent settings. I DO know what unresponsive means and other people have mentioned it in their reviews. You're a moron!

NK-NicKy-01 responds:

I think you don't know what unresponsive means... Maybe your PC is lagging, it's just slow, not unresponsive, read the comments, no one's complaining about the movement, everyone loves it, the gravity is just low and the movement is slow...

Cool game. Although I have to say, the zoom in/out behaviour when your mouse is near the edge of the play area, and how that affects the angle/power of your shot, AND how sensitive it is, is utterly f***ing infuriating!

Checking your itch.io page and noting that that game has been available for over a year there, I find it hard to believe that nobody else has mentioned this, so I can only assume that you simply haven't bothered to fix it... and that blows my mind!

Finished with a score of 251.

I'm guessing the wife kept attempting suicide because she had to keep listening to that god-awful 8-bit dubstep.

This is a pretty boring example of the running platformer genre.

Having played, and enjoyed, similar games in the past I hoped to see plenty of upgrades, pickups and achievements to add layers of interest - but nope... None. Nada. Zilch.

On top of that the jumping feels totally unnatural and unintuitive which, for a game where your ONLY movement is through jumping, is pretty crappy IMO.

Excellent.

The game itself is pretty bland... it's the same side scrolling platforming level after level after level... some vertical or other level designs that did more than just going side-to-side would've been a welcome addition.

The pause screen hints at something deeper with pickups and whatnot, but even though I fastidiously collected all chests, gems and checked every "store guy" I never saw any new weapons. I did, however, buy three necklaces (?). Each claimed to increase the drop rate of hearts, money and bombs respectively. Unfortunately I noticed no significant change in item drops.

I got as far as where an invincible purple cloud kept following me, maybe it was included to add challenge to the game because it's pretty easy otherwise. I, personally, just found it annoying and stopped playing.

TheEnkian responds:

There are some vertical sections and a new sword from shops, permanent health upgrades, as well as crystals that change your damage output instead of just altering drop rates.

So when you die, the game doesn't send you back to the main menu, or give you an option to "try again"?

You have to select "menu" and then click "play" from the main menu... but then you have to sit through the entire &$#&!%ing unskippable animation all over again!

The sound design is terrible... the sound effects sound like 8-bit sound effects, but 1. It doesn't suit the game at all, what with the stock "triumphant orchestral" music, and 2. Even judged simply as 8-bit sound effects, they are bland, too similar to each other and jarring.

The voice actor in the animation sounds quite good, just a real shame that nobody bothered to compress and/or normalise his voice recordings as the volume of his voice goes up and down like a yo-yo.
