The sudden camera flick when you change direction is REALLY jarring.

Thanks for the feedback. In the second one I'm going to include a couple of different camera options. One where the camera doesn't flick and one where its the camera featured here so that players have the choice between them. Personally I like to see further ahead of the player, but I understand that this can be a little difficult on the eye when turning around. You aren't the only person to make this point.

Infact I will probably implement it into this version of the game too as an update once I've done it.

EDIT: I tweaked it. You can now press the "A" key to keep the camera centred on Mazza.

Encountered a bug (soft lock).

At the first boss I died, respawned by the entrance (above the pit), so I stood on the edge trying to lob bombs at him. This caused the boss to go out of bounds (through the wall on the left) and fall off screen. I can hear it doing it's attacks but cant see it or attack it.

I think I fixed it! Let me know if that works.

A couple of complaints: 1) Sometimes the ball will hit a white wall in a place in between where you can place a portal. 2) So I place a few portals and watch the ball's path, then I place another portal where the ball goes... but now the ball takes another path and doesn't hit that portal. Remove the last portal and it reverts back to the original path.

Other than that it's a fantastic game!

Finally got gold in all levels, stars in 4, 6 and 7!

1) Yup, agreed this is a bit annoying. Perhaps if I make a Portal Golf 2 I'll let you put portals anywhere and improve the physics so that the ball can go through portals instead of bouncing off if it barely touches the wall

2) Is the ball clipping into the new portal at some point? (see an example in the guide https://frenchie14.newgrounds.com/news/post/1216209)

Level 18 is the same as level 8.
Level 19 is the same as level 10.

Fantastic game!

Although I experienced some serious slow-down on level 60.
(Win10, Firefox 83.0, i5 3570, GTX1060)

EDIT: I finished level 59, went to the next level and it instantly slowed down. It was slow for the whole of 60, including the boss fight.

Also thanks for the system info. If it's slowing down for you with a GTX1060 graphics card, then there's likely some optimisation problems in my programming. I'll add it to my backlog, but currently mobile development will take priority--at least until next month.

Does it happen right at the start of the level? Or when you reach the boss fight?

Really good game. Although it could benefit from some way of telling where you're meant to take an item, like an arrow that points in the general direction, or a map.

Thank you!!! I thought about it, but thought that maybe it'd take a bit from the exploration. Now that i think about it, it might done so if not for the fact that dying resets your progress from that bit, kind of. So it would have been a nice addition, actually!
This is good insight if i ever do something akin to this style again, the feedback people are giving me here is amazing!

no. i have seen multiple complaints. what browser r u using?

WASD/arrow keys for movement... except W and UP don't jump, you have to use space. Then when you finish a level you have to use the mouse to select next stage/reset. WHY?

Please put more thought in your control scheme.

Thanks for the feedback and sorry for the inconvenience, I've already updated the control scheme of the game. Now you don't need a mouse to play the game! (level editor however still requires a mouse though)
